Why Was FinalRun Created?

As developers, we constantly faced the challenges of managing and maintaining UI test automation. Despite using industry-standard frameworks like Appium, Espresso and XCUITest, the process remained labor-intensive and inefficient.

• Maintenance Overload: Every app update required us to rewrite or adjust test cases, particularly for XPaths and locators. Balancing the creation of new test cases while maintaining older ones was a continuous struggle.

• End-to-End Complexity: Testing complete user flows across both mobile and web platforms was especially challenging. Tools like Appium and Playwright demanded complex setups and configurations to achieve even basic end-to-end tests.

• Time-Consuming Workflows: Covering all edge cases and scenarios required manual effort to script, adapt and maintain tests. This slowed down the testing cycle and delayed product releases.

We realized there had to be a better way.
